- This recommendation applies to adults and children with filovirus disease that have bleeding from intravenous sites, gastrointestinal tract and oral mucosa. • This does not apply to patients with filovirus that are bleeding due to a condition for which tranexamic acid has a proven benefit, such as postpartum haemorrhage, surgical bleeding or trauma.
